I haven’t been blogging (
lately) for the longest time and that is because I have been swamped with loads of work and never found the time to blog. I mean, I had *some* time, but never made a full effort to compose a decent blog post because I was mentally tired from work.
I also lost all the willingness and inspiration to blog.
I felt like blogging (and life, in general) was walking into an endless dark alley way. So I had to take some time off (especially from social media). Right now, things seems to be getting better. I see some light at the far end of this alley way. It is small but bright enough to light my way out. Slowly, but surely.
FOR NOW, I’M BACK.
For now, I am back. Hopefully, I find the courage and inspiration to finish my 10 drafted posts and create new word vomits to serve as inspiration to others.
If you haven’t noticed already, I (once again) had a blog makeover! I wanted change so bad and did not know where to start. After several self-debates, I finally gave in to the thought of redesigning my blog (again) as it was a part of who I am. No regrets there! Now, let me share with you the behind the scenes of this blog makeover!
THE OVERALL LOOK
Recently, I asked some of my colleagues randomly “What color do you see me as?” and I only got two answers. It was either blue or yellow. From there on, I decided to use those as my colors. Hence, the dusty blue and muted/pastel gold as the overall theme of my blog. Of course, I had to include white and variations of gray so the blog won’t be an eyesore.
The other elements I incorporated to this look are anchor, paper plane, quill, and a movie clapper all of which represent what kind of stories you can expect to see on the blog. I have also used a random water color element (somewhere) just because I love anything water color! LOL
The inspiration to this blog heavily came from clouds and skies, aside from it represents travelling (which I love to do), to me, it meant an infinite amount of possibilities. As the old saying goes,
The sky is the limit.
- The world map, camera, and polaroid-ish theme to the blog is because I love modern-vintage styles and of course, travelling!
- Books represent the stories I am about to write and share to the world.
- Flowers, well I just love them with no definite reason.
I am no design expert so I had to buy a theme and just edit it to my own! I took advantage of the Black Friday sale that happened over at helloyoudesigns.com. For months, I have always been looking into buying one of her themes (because it’s gorgeous AF!) but of course, priorities had to come first. All of her themes are amazing, which made it such a hard decision for me to choose.
The day (or before) of the sale, Jennifer also had an early release of a new theme of hers. I immediately fell in love with the theme and bought it with no regrets. It had most of the design elements I wanted from her other themes. The Hello You Designs support is also commendable! The theme came with a little code hiccups and Jennifer went right in to fix the issue immediately! Since then, the redesigning has been smooth.
